The Winter Wings bird festival is a high point for any bird photographer who attends.  Here are images from Albert Ryckman’s days in the frigid air and exhilerating bird encounters:

Nothing rare here but beauty abounding.  Snow Geese in flight, upright female mergansers, night-heron frozen in the air…the air itself frozen as well.  Sigh.
