“One swallow does not a summer make, nor one fine day; similarly one day or brief time of happiness does not make a person entirely happy.” –Aristotle
Ari, old boy, you got it wrong again. Swallows not only make a summer, they make a strong implication that there will be at least one more spring. And seeing my first violet-greens in months makes this person entirely happy.
Shortly after noon today there were three Violet-green Swallows feeding over the river slouf just below Salem’s Riverfront Park. Welcome home, guys.
These are crappy images but best I could do with my point-n-shoot.
