FROM WATCHER TO WATCHED

We birders are always watching. Well, today, I got watched. Because there was no rain, I couldfind no excuse so I was in the garden diggin gout an unwanted shrub. A falsh if motion caught my eye, I loom uo to see our yellow-rump, staring at me from three feet away.
“Why are you clogging up the space right next to one of my favorite feeders?” That’s what I thought he thought.

Later the dog and I went on a waljk in Bush’s Pasture. Didn’t see any birds, so a pair of watchers were peering down at us:
