NOVEMBER GALLERY

Some birds of the month:

Hairy Woodpecker on suet block in our garden.  Female.  Regular visitor.

What’s that blur?  Red-breasted Nuthatch launching into air from the suet log in our garden.

Trio of Crows at Ashland Dog Park.

Upside down Downy at Ashland Pond.

American Robin takes off.

Can you identify the tall heron standing with its shoulders scrunched?  Answer at bottom of blog.

Three of our Granite Street neighbors gobbling up a free breakfast in the yard next door. Wild Turkeys are colonizing unexpected habitat, like urban New York City.  Click here to see Station Island turkeys, with feathers.

MYSTERY HERON: GREY HERON ON THE BANKS OF A CANAL IN THE ENGLISH MIDLANDS.  SHARED BY MY FRIEND HOWARD MAKIN WHO TOOK THE PICTURE FROM THE DECK OF A NARROWBOAT ON THE CANAL RECENTLY.
