HERON ON ICE AND OTHER HEADY COCK’S TAILS

January, Klamath Basin. Brief report from Shannon Rio, photos by Kirk Gooding: “Kirk and I had a magical extreme weather experience at the running Y and in the klamath basin last weekend.  sometimes weather extremes areethereal and magical.  i walked alot in the snow, in the silence and studied the birds of that area of which there were many:  white headed woodpeckers, always flickers, pygmy nuthatches, sharp shinned hawk and many more.  it is very december, shannon.”

  1. Glorious photos! Way to go, Kirk!

  2. Brrr, it looks very cold but the bird photos are terrific. I’ve been to Winter Wings in Feb. and it’s cold then too.
