Above: cormorants, female Common Merganser, Great Blue Heron, flock of Ring-billed Gulls, floating Short-billed Gull, geese in flight, and our state bird. That meadowlark was one of the last species we added to our list. He was in a field at the dead end of Rentenaar Road–landed in the only tree near us so we could admire and photograph.
And below is a nice sequence. Can you guess the species? Hint, ask at your local post office–“the stamp bird.”
