I am not sure what lives in Capitol Lake with its loud traffic noise, its aeration fountain, its floating golf green, its plastic swans. But swimmers like it despite signs sayiung no swimming. Give a hoot, coots? “Hah. We swim where we want.”
CAPITOL LAKE

FLORAL FALL
Still blooming are native spirea, red-osier dogwood. Some leaves have lost their green, the greening chlorophyll having withdrawn into the roots for the alleged cold weather that’s coming…and other leaves are already moldy, part of their transition back to the soil whence their molecules sprang in spring.
