A family of CB Chickadees came through the garden as we were eating lunch outside. They eyed us, got into the tree overhead, looked down, chattered to one another. They decided we were harmless and so visited the feeders before climbing up into the taller trees and moving on.
The local turkeys are starting amalgamate their autumn flock. Today I saw two toms, a hen and turkleylette in a quartet. A single youngster does not bode well for their breeding in this urban habitat. The raccoons would be their biggest threat here in Salem.
