GROSBEAKERY AND OTHER SPRING PURSUITS

Until today (May 30) we’ve had one or more grosbeaks daily for the latter half of May. They may now have left for breeding territory which is not likely here, the trees too far apart, the canopy open.

May 31 update: a young make grosbeak showed up at our feeders in the morning sunlight. We amy still have a chance of a nearby nest.

This was supposed to be yet another grosbeak shot, but he flew, leaving me with “just” a garden in flower. We cannot count the colors right now–this small garden has over sixty rose bushes and a couple dozen rhodie/azaleas plus iris and camellia and dogwood and flowering in excelsis deo.
