WE NEED A NEW WORD…

How about “nestiferous?” That’s how our local park seems these days. Morning iof Day #10 and Mrs. Flicker is back in the nest cavity, chucking out wood chips. On the mud bank of Clark Creek, immediately below the nest hole are some of mutlitude of chips strewn about:

In the very same tree a pair of crows arrived as I watched. One grabbed a mouthful of flexible fibers (from the rotting wood?) and flew off to line a nest:
