CRANES AT MALHEUR–WET ENOUGH TO NEST?

There was no evidence of successful crane nesting around Malheur last year–too dry. The cranes, ever hopeful and determined are back. Here are two fine shots along Greenhouse Lane by Albert Ryckman, April 4:

This is what Chickahominy Reservoir looked like yesterday:

In the area Albert encountered a fifty-mile-per-hour wind pushing a dust storm.
