From my Wisconsin friend, Roger Rigterink: “I have been meaning to send something like the attached photo before. Awhile back you mentioned that you don’t get redpolls in your local. I will tell you, when they invade, they invade. About ninety percent of the birds in that photo are redpolls. (Be sure to notice the grouping under the feeder at the far right side of the photo.) They are eating us out of house and home.”
THe parallel here in western Oregon would be siskins or juncos.
