POLK COUNTY WATERFOWL

We had to run an errand in northern Polk County today. Two farm ponds there were waterfowl filled, and a nearby field was blackened by Cackling Geese, grazing.
Here is female Lesser Scaup in duck pond at The Willows wedding venue.

In our garden a White-breasted Nuthatch was foraging and honking his little horn.
The turkeys come every day now. One recent evening we could hearing them gobbling as they settled for the night into some large Doug-firs 200 yards up nthe hill from our house.
