The Wild Turkeys were back this morning…arriving around 9AM as if they had an appointment. And I spent some time watching them. The toms bully the hens. The young hens bully the smaller birds. One immature hen came back thrity feet just to chase the Mourning Doves away from seeds the turkeys hadn’t deigned to gobble down. Turkeys not only gobble call, they gobble food. Today they also spent several minutes grazing of fresh grass leaves on our lawn, which they fertilize as they amble along. After an hour I went out and shoo-ed them along so the other birds could eat on this cold, foggy morning.

Bullying, left-wing, right-wing, both wings. Political critters these turkeys. They nare an invasive species just like we hominids are.
For the first time I saw a red-tail perched in Clark Creek Park. It was about 430PM so maybe the crows were off to their roost trees?

CROWING…did the dog walker scatter crow bait? These birds know individual people so maybe they followed her knowing what was in store?
