FOR THE BIRDS–BLOGGER GOES TO CHURCH

It’s been years since I’ve been inside a church for a service, not to look at a Caravaggio. Click here for a preview of my first sermonal conversation.

So I am (virtually) part of the service tomorrow (Sunday) at Little River United Church of Christ, Annandaler, VA. The topic is birds and climate change. I was invited by Rev. Arthur Cribbs, a former news colleague, whose life journey led him to the ministry.

Zoom Worship, 10AM Eastern Time, 7AM Pacific. I plan to be part of the Zoom and answer questions after the sermon.

  1. That is interesting to put in a topic of birds to a church service. Not what I would have imagined. Good luck!

    • apparently a church known for social and political activism, I feel climate change warrants some action

      • Yes, I totally agree! I think I am so stuck in what a “traditional Catholic Mass” looks like. I am now reading a book and the characters are part of “A Welcoming Church” where all denominations are welcome. I like that idea. I think that each religion has strong points and weaknesses.
