BEFORE IT GETS TOO HOT

I was up near dawn this morning, any garden work had to get dine early. Our back garden was birdy as it is heavily shaded and there’s a bird bath and feeders. The squirrels were active this morning as well, then off to some shaded hang-out up in one of the bigger trees. By the time the temp neared 90 degrees most of the bird action was over. That was shortly before noon.

Interested in birds’ beak style and function. Here’s my piece for “Salem Reporter.”
