Click here for NBC report on lack of water along the Klamath River. Back in late winter that drought was already leading ti major avian cholera outbreak in the wildlife refuges there (Tule and Lower Klamath).

Here is my blog from late Marsh after I’d seen all the feathered corpses lining Tule Lake.

Now a new assortment of drought victims can be foreseen including fish and farms. It’s also going to be bad for some birds that cannot deal with drought easily–from Tricolored Blackbirds to Sandhill Cranes. If the rodent population crashes due to lack of food it will be catastrophic for the many dependent raptors as well.

Here’s a news story looking at the wide range of drought effects.
