ARRIVED AT MALHEUR THIS AFTERNOON

It is Peter French’s birthday by the way.
Very dry year–The Narrows has small herd of pronghorn, no water. Some flooded fields at Riley.
Some flooded fields along Greenhouse Lane for good birding. Saw one nesting Sandhill Crane incubating. Courting Willets. Great Horned Owls’ nest at Field station has two owlets.

BE WARNED…if you drive up Santiam Canyon you will suffer through forty miles of horrid devastation to man, nature, birds.
