IS THIS CLAUDIA CARDINAL?

I think my friend’s leucistic cardinal in southern Virginia is a female, based on the paler tones of the dark feathers…but that could be misleading. In normal plumage the male is always a darker, richer tone than the female, like the colors on our own Spotted Towhees. Two more recent images:
