A hanging seed feeder was nearly empty. I got a scoop of sunflower seed bits and proceeded to refill the cylinder. As soon as I set the feeder onto the porch to replace the top a young siskin landed on the feeder and began to eat. We were about a foot apart. I had to hold the feeder at arm’s length to get my camera far enough from it to take an image. The siskin looked at me and continued to eat. After I got my shots, the siskin didn’t deign to move as I lifted the feeder up to its hanging hook…but continued eating.
