There may be some good after-effects of this covid pandemic.  Apparently people who spend their normal days (remember those?) inside or staring at some video screen (of whatever size) or at a keyboard, have started to look around and some see the birds that have always been there.  Birding is getting attention from folks who just never had time…

Let’s hope this means more political support for environmental protection and less use of toxic chemicals.

We long time birders may be quietly smug now.  We are the ones who have always looked at the birds as we drive  by, or never ignore the robin on the lawn.  Welcome, new birders, there is always more to see, more to learn.
