Suet on beak. I frequently see “our” birds go off the suet feeders and wipe the beak on tree bark to clean it off. Here a nuthatch demonstrates why–the fleck that sticks:The yellow-rumps frequent our feeders all day long–usually four myrtles and one Audubon’s. They love the suet:
