A bird frozen many millennia ago has been de-iced. It is a Horned Lark found in Siberia.
This is what he would have looked like before his cold end. Perhaps he died before he was frozen. The species is still widely distributed across the Northern Hemisphere. It is North America’s only true lark. He has many cousins in Eurasia, though few as handsome.
