Our Yamhill Valley count Dec. 27 was under foggy skies most of the day. So the one fine shot I got all day was this male towhee, who’d been eating the apple just below where he is perched, staring at the camera.Yet more birds:
And then the final pictures of the day, ending with a small flock of Western Bluebirds feeding along Baker Creek Road. The sapsucker was at Huber Park where we saw only a pair of Steller’s Jays before he flew into view.
We did not find a dipper on our count day though they do breed under a bridge along Baker Creek.
Back home in our garden the Audubon’s Warbler appears daily to harass the chickadees. They persist so it may be just a game they all play.
