At Joe Dancer Park this morning the dogs and I watched two male kestrels vie for field position. One flew out and landed on the soccer field, almost immediately a second one flew in nearby. There were hops, one mock attack with a fly over, some wing flutters, and perhaps a vocal discussion I couldn’t hear. Finally they agreed to disagree and flew off in separate directions. No feather mussed, no blood shed. People could learn the kestrels’ example.
