With climate change–regardless of what political panderers may say–we are seeing more and more phenomena that have no historical precedence…things that may last have happened thousands or millions or years ago…if ever.

Now there are living gelatinous pickles invading the North Pacific…maybe for the first time. Behold the multitudes of pyrosomes from the tropics…in decidedly non-tropical waters.

Pyrosomes compete with krill as filter feeders and thus could have major effects on oceanic mammals and seabirds if they remain and alter the food chain.
