Yesterday for the first time I visited one of the birding sites in the Oregon 2020 program.  I have previously submitted eBirding data for 2020 sites but wasn’t really sure what that was all about.  After the Willamette Valley Bird Symposium, I knew about 2020.  It’s an effort led by Oregon State University scientists to accurately locate breeding and wintering grounds for all species in the state.  Click here to learn more about Oregon 2020 and its countyw9de bird blitzes coming this spring.

The location I chose is not far from my home here in Yamhill County.  Old Railroad Grade Road northwest of Yamhill, the town.  The upper section of the road as it climbs into the Coastal Range foothills follows the North Yamhill River into dense rainforest.  The lower section of the road runs through farmland.
