Today Oregon Public Broadcasting interviewed a young biologist studying the coyotes resident in Portland, Oregon.  This cunning canine has found ways to survive in most American cities, squeezing into the interstices, hiding out, being nocturnal and stealthy.

Here is link to the Portland Coyote Project website. I note on the sightings map there are hot spots.  And that they are rarely seen in heavily forested Forest Park, the largest urban woodland in America.

One of the oldest urban coyote research projects is in Chicago and Cook County, Illinois.
