Swamp Sparrow and male Varied Thrush. Sparrow is wintering at North Mountain Park, Ashland. The thrush was in northwestern Portland. The sparrow is uncommon here in Oregon but the Varied Thrush is hard to match for glamour, even though he can disappear in the dense shade where he spends most of his time.
