CALIFORNIA COAST

I just back from a quick trip to Eureka, via Crescent City. Not much birding time but there were some good moments:BCCH FLIZ-SOSP
Black-capped Chickadee and Song Sparrow on my brother-in-law’s feeder, Eureka.

Below: Chestnut-backed Chickadee taking his turn at the feeder.
cbch looksThis bird in the back is a leucistic Black-capped, with pale shoulders and wings and white flecks on its crown.

Least Sandpipers (2) in front, Lesser Yellowlegs and Surfbirds…nobody on this beach withOUT yellowish leggings on. Crescent City.

Two Cacklers about the same size as the Western Gulls, at least one Ring-billed in the frame as well. Crescent City.
