Below: Ring-necked Parakeet, now seen all over London. It can be found in urban areas scattered across Europe and Mideast. Its original range is across Equatorial Africa and the Indian sub-continent. It is also known as Rose-ringed Parakeet though only the adult male has the neck ring. It has been breeding in the London area for nearly half a century and there are now about 5000 wild birds of this species in England.
