JEEPERS CREEPERS

I found a pair of Brown Creepers flying around and feeding together at Newbry Park on the Bear Creek Greenway. I rarely see that species here in the southern part of the Rogue Valley. Also, a Hairy Woodpecker was busy working on a tree trunk. Very few ducks were on the pond along the trail. Dipperwash but no Dipper on Bear Creek.
Near my house today there was a female Townsend’s Warbler in a gleaner flock. Probably an over-wintering bird as the rest of the flock were the usual winter birds: Bushtits, two chickadee species, Juncos. We did have Townsend’s on the Ashland Christmas Count but it’s the first time this winter I’ve seen one near my house.
