IMG_1726 These images show White-breasted Nuthatch going into and then leaving a nest hole that this species used last spring. I suspect the birds (there were two present) are now using it as a roost hole on cold nights.
This nest/roost hole is in a large oak at North Mountain Park. The hole’s about four feet off the ground. Pictures taken by Matthew Gooding on our Park & Rec birding class field trip Saturday.
