EMIGRANT LAKE: SHOREBIRD SEASON

I didn’t find anything unusual at Emigrant Lake this afternoon. Did not relocate the Semipalm. Plover seen in the morning, nor the Solitary Sandpiper seen earlier in the week. Also saw no grebes of any kind but I didn’t go to the north end of the reservoir.
Herring Gulls and White Pelicans continue, and plenty of shorebirds for our Rogue Valley Audubon Field trip this coming Saturday. We meet at 8AM at ShopnKart. Weather forecast: smoke.FOOTPRINTS (1280x1280)

HERE’S FRANK LOSPALLUTO’S REPORT ON WHAT HE SAW EARLY TODAY AT EM. LAKE:
I was out at Emigrant this morning via Rosebud Lane so didn’t see Forrest’s post about an Eared Grebe (i dipped on it) . I added one new species of stick bird to my county list : STICK-NECKED PHALAROPE.
I did find one BANK SWALLOW looking for a consonant swap with a large flock of

BARN SWALLOWS. And one SEMIPALMATED PLOVER. I thought I may have seen a Solitary Sandpiper across the water but the hazy conditions prevented any conclusion. didn’t have time to look from the Greensprings Spur side . There were ducks out there but i avoided any attempts at id. so left them off my list.
