There’s really only way to get a picture of some of the smaller birds that flit in and around our garden. Pick their next landing spot, turn on the camera, point…and when they DO land there, shoot immediately. I spent some fun moments doing just that with our suet-lovers today. Here are some of the more interesting shots:

This first picture shows a Chestnut-backed Chickadee at the suet, one of the quartet that are around our garden daily right now. Here are more Chestnuts:

This blur is actually the Mountain Chickadee–we have onky one right now–taiing off. He would not come back for a second shot while I was there.

I saved my best for last. This is the Red-breasted Nuthatch just landing, his wings still in motion.

WHIRRING WINGS
