SUSSEX BIRDS

Late today I birded along the lower River Ouse in Lewes, not far from where it flows into the British Channel. Mute Swans feeding along the riverbank near the local Tesco.

Magpie on roof.

Jackdaw. This smallest of British corvids is abundant here in Lewes. They roost on the chalk cliff face at the south edge of town.

This Greenfinch was cleaning out the feeder in our friends’ nbac gardein in Dulwich this morning.
