We’ve been in Portland & Seattle this week. Not much time for birding but there’ve been some happy sightings in Seattle city parks and at Nisqually NWR near Olympia. Crows enjoy a picnic at Idyllwood Park in Redmond, WA.

Young swallows at Larsen Lake, Bellevue, WA. The lake is surrounded by blueberry gardens.
Young but loud Bewick’s Wren at Marymoor Park.
Adult Bald Eagle on shore of Lake Sammamish, Idyllwood Park, Redmond.
Brown Creeper hanging backside down at Marymoor Park.
Lesser Goldfinch on fountain at lavender farm in hills above Hood River, OR.
White-crowned Sparrow in pet memorial garden at Marymoor Park, Redmond.
Cedar Waxwing at Nisqually NWR where the species breeds and feed each summer.
