DANCE OF THE HOURS

CLICK ON IMAGE FOR FULL SCREEN VIEW.
This great photo is by Peter Thiemann, taken recently at the south end of Klamath Lake where the grebes dance each spring. The couple on the left are Clark’s, while the couple on the right are Western Grebes. Both couple seem to like the same pre-dance tunes and know many similar steps. They moves so fast I doubt any human tango dancer could keep up. Especially not across the water. These birds have been walking on water for many thousands of years. ASnd now is the time to go see them.

  1. Will the grebes most likely still b dancing in 2 weeks?
