ASHLAND BETWEEN SNOW FLAKES

Four of us checked out some of the easy birding spots in Ashland today, dodging the rain and ice pellets that sporadically fell on us.  The small farm ponds on Siskiyou Boulevard East were ducky.  At North Mountain Park there was plenty of action at the feeders with the Red-winged Blackbirds were showing signs of courtship territoriality.  At Ashland Pond the fish were jumping and the ducks plentiful, especially the Ring-necked with their ringed bills:  The nesting Dipper was active beneath the Main Street Bridge.  Not a bad morninn for a snowy day in winter.
