There’s growing evidence that wildlife is polarizing.  Not in the sense of American politics.  These animals are  moving toward the poles because the real extreme is in the middle.  The equator is getting too hot.  Animals are also shifting their range into higher elevations.  It has been predicted in the U.S. by the State of the Birds Report that many high elev ations native species will be displaced or heavily pressured by more adaptable species moving up from below.  Steller’s Jay vs. the more specialized Clark’s Nutcracker in my area, for example.
