Common Murres have apparently reclaimed an offsore island where they were once common…after nearly a century.  Here’s the story.  In the Bay Area Murres are now commonly found in colonies on Alcatraz, the former prison where they’re now joined by Night-Herons, Brandt’ s Cormorant, Egret and Pigeon Guillemot during nesting season
