SPLITSVILLE

American Ornithological Union taketh away and giveth back…in the world of nomenclature for birds.  Good-by, Moorhen, welcome back Gallinule.  Read all about it, here.

 

 

This is a genuine Moorhen, of the sort and species found in Europe.  That is a Common Coot, his cousin, behind.  Both are native Londoners.
