NEW BUMPER STICKER: DIPPERS DO IT DAM WELL

The upper Lithia Park Dippers copulating about 3:30pm on the dam above their nest.

BNA is silent on Dipper copulation.  Is each egg fertilized separately?  I’ll see if I can find any information on that question.  Presumably this means that no eggs have been laid in the nest which was begun weeks ago. Maybe they were waiting for warmth and more insects in the stream?  End of rainy season?

After they were done, each Dipper flew off in a different direction, presumably to feed another appetite.
