PRINCETON HARBOR AND ALAMO SQUARE

In the Bay Area today I spent some time in San Francisco’s Alamo Square, then drove down Highway 1, with a brief stop at Princeton Harbor just north of Half Moon Bay.  Birds included singing Purple Finch, Aratinga genus parrots and Pygmy Nuthatch in Alamo Square.  At Princeton there was a nearshore Red-throated Loon and a Common Loon in breeding plumage.  Shorebirds on SF”s Ocean Beach: Marbled Godwit and Sanderling.

Aratinga in Monterey cypress turned away from camera.

My images don’t do justice to the crisp, intricate pattern on the back of the Commo0n loon.  Order of pictures: 2 Red-throated Loons, then two of the common, followed by a Black Phoebe, back to the camera.
