GROUND CUCKOO

This excellent portrait of a Greater Roadrunner comes from my birding pal, Jerry Clifton, who’s in Arizona right now.

Here’s a classic account of the Roadrunner written by great 20th Century ornithologist and bird artist, George Miksch Sutton.

For lots more of Jerry’s great bird pics, check out his smugmug site, click here.

The Roadrunner is found in area areas from southwestern Missouri westward to central California and into much of Central America’s drylands.
