NOT OWLS

These guys are cellulose specialists, eating dead or living plants.  This one was about 1.3 inches long.

I am now certain of this damselfly’s ID, but sure looks like the picture in the book for “familiar bluet.”  About 1.5″ long it landed next to me as I watched Ashland Creek for a Dipper.  No Dipper but this pale-hued fellow sat in the sun for a photographic interlude.
