Here’s photographic proof, aliens without papers, without visas, settling into Ashland’s mellowness:

The rapid spread of the ECD from Florida across the North American continent has taken less than 30 years. The Eurasian Collared-Dove was originally resident on the Indian sub-continent.  It spread across southern Asia and most of Europe with no direct human help.  It is now resident even on northern islands off Scotland.  Fecundity and a diverse plant diet have helped this species’ global success.  You might think of them as the McDonals’s of the pigeon family.

  2. That does look a lot like the bird we saw in southern Africa last year. Collared at least.
