Ashland Pond and Bear Creek Gallery

From the top: Acorn Woodpecker; young Scrub-Jay with feathers awry; Tree Swallow briefly perched and showing its high-gloss finish.

Another Acorn wood pecking; California ground squirrel having afternoon tea on his veranda with lovely view of the nearby pond.  Even in rodent real estate it’s location, location, location.

Mother Wood Duck with two half-cup ducklings; Western Wood-Pewee; Robin nesting; elegant brodiaea [Brodiaea elegans].  This wildflower is at its peak on the dry slopes above Ashland Pond right now.
