New Bird For 2010

It was the usual March crowd at Ashland Pond this morning…except: among the swooping, circling Tree Swallows was one lone, brown Northern Rough-wing.  First time this year.  He’s actually slightly smaller than the Tree Swallows and is altogether lacking that shining gloss on the back.  Just a drab, dull brown.
