Ashland oxpecker, un-ugly ducklings

This Ashland oxpecker is actually one of several European Starlings I found picking insects off the hides of a herd lof co-operative cud-chewers here in town.  Guess we qualify as a cow-town, and we’re proud of both our cows and the oxpeckers, both being immigrants from the Old World.IMG_8246

Female Wood Duck and one of her ducklings, feeding on the park lawn across the street from our house.

And below you can see two Wood Ducks, sunny side up in Lithia Park.
